OWNER’S REPRESENTATIVE

Lauren was the Owner’s Representative for the Renzo-Piano designed, 220,000 sqft, Whitney Museum of American Art, in New York City.

In 2012, Lauren commenced on the project at ground breaking and represented the client throughout the construction phase until opening in 2015.

The requirement for Owner’s Rep was to guide the client throughout the project regarding design, budget and construction decisions, whilst ensuring the construction (Turner Construction) and design team (Renzo Piano and Cooper Robertson) remained true to the client’s design intentions, on-time and within budget.

Key responsibilties included:

  • Coordination of internal stakeholders within The Whitney, including executives, board members, curators, events team, visitor experience team and several others

  • Budget review and strategy

  • Risk Mitigation

  • Quality-check on the building’s materials such as the steel facade (in Germany) and Structural steel (VA, USA)

  • Full coordination of the 2 USHG restaurants in the Museum

  • Landscape intergration (designed by Piet Oudolf)

  • FF&E and special equipment for art restoration staff
